A recent survey conducted by AF Associates, across a diverse group of organisations, reveals that the number one issue of importance to people at work is, without question, job satisfaction.   Next is job security, with pay third.  Relationships with immediate line manager and having fun are not so important. 

In terms of engagement, this means employers can postpone constructing their play areas until after they have made sure they increase job satisfaction.  They can do this by making sure staff have the resources and autonomy to do their jobs. To increase job security they need to regularly communicate to their employees the company's business performance .
